September 16-20: All-State Honor Band Nomination Auditions
Sunday, September 22: Stetson University Honor Chamber Festival
All-State Honor Band
Students who are nominated for this group will have the opportunity to represent the Umatilla Middle School Tiger Band at the Florida Music Educators Association (FMEA) Conference. This week, students who mentioned they are interested in being nominated will perform their scales for me in order for me to determine who will get nominated. The most updated news is that I can only nominate five students. The FMEA Conference is January 9-11, 2025.
Stetson University Honor Chamber Festival
Students who were interested in attending the Honor Chamber Festival at Stetson: the event is in ONE WEEK! Please make sure you fill both the Google Form and the Liability Waiver and Risk Acknowledgement Form. I have attached the liability form and the information website for you to have. Check-in is from 8:45am-9:45am in Presser Hall, and the concert is at 6:30pm in Elizabeth Hall's Lee Chapel. PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS!
Looking Ahead
September 30: Band Fees and Instrument Rental Fees DUE
Band Fees: $75
Instrument Rental Fee: $100 ($50 for Fall, $50 for Spring. Can be two separate payments)
October 18: Umatilla High School Middle School Night (RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY)
Please make sure you are staying up to date with our calendar. It is posted on our website and on the BAND App. Students should also have their music and instruments everyday.
