No Events


IMPORTANT SOLO & ENSEMBLE DATES!

I am currently scheduling days where students can rehearse their solos with their piano accompanist. I will send an email out to those parents and students of who you are rehearsing with, and when. Be prepared to rehearse before school, after school, during Tiger Time, or during your band class WEEK OF MARCH 31ST! REMEMBER: You must pay your accompanist beforehand! It is $40 (covering at least one rehearsal and the performance).


IMPORTANT DATES FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL VISITS!

So far we have two elementary school visits scheduled. I am still waiting to hear back from Spring Creek Elementary. The Jazz Band will be performing for the students during school and will be excused from their classes. I will have forms ready for them tomorrow, March 24. Please get it signed and returned to me ASAP!


Altoona Elementary - Wednesday, April 2 at 1PM

Umatilla Elementary - Friday, April 11 at 2PM


What's in Store for Quarter 4?

Fundraiser! - Tumblr & Coffee

Starting in early April, the band will be selling tumblrs and coffee to help students raise money for any outstanding band fees.


Solo & Ensemble 2, The Villages Charter Middle School

This event is on April 12. Just like the one last month, students will perform either a solo or an ensemble in front of a judge who then will give students feedback on how to get better at their instrument. Students who are participating in this event will receive an automatic A for their Solo & Ensemble grade for this quarter. Everyone else is still required to prepare a solo or an ensemble for a grade (in class performance).


Lakeside Jazz Festival, Kenneth Parker Amphitheatre - Port Orange, FL

This event is on April 25. Students in the Jazz Band are REQUIRED to go to this performance. Students will perform on the Café Stage at 11am. There will be three jazz educators from across Florida giving us feedback. After our performance, we will receive a clinic from one of these educators to help us improve. Detail specifics were sent out last week. Please email me if you have questions or would like to chaperone!


Umatilla MS Spring Concert, Umatilla High School - Umatilla, FL

Our Spring Concert will be on April 29 at 7PM! More details to come!


CONCERTS FOR PASS-OFFS!

As Pass-Offs are once again back for this quarter, here are some really awesome concerts you can check out! REMEMBER TO TAKE A PHOTO OR CHECK IN WITH ME FOR CREDIT!!!


Tuesday, March 25, 7PM - United States Navy Band Performance, Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach. FREE!!!

It is not common to find military band performances that are close by in Florida, on top of it being completely free! I will be attending this, but try to take some photos as well!


Thursday, March 27, 7 PM - Daytona State College Spring Instrumental Extravaganza!, News Journal Center - Daytona Beach, FL. $10 for Adults, $5 for child under 11 (bring your student ID just in case)

I am performing with the Daytona State Jazz Band in this concert! I will be playing tenor saxophone!


Wednesday, April 2, 7:30 PM - Stetson Jazz Ensemble Concert, Second Stage Theatre, DeLand, FL. $15 for Adults, $5 for Students.


Sunday, April 6, 1 PM - Stetson Percussion Ensemble Concert, Lee Chapel - Elizabeth Hall, Stetson University, DeLand, FL. FREE!!!


Sunday, April 6, 4 PM - Stetson Woodwind Ensembles Concert, Lee Chapel - Elizabeth Hall, Stetson University, DeLand, FL. FREE!!!


Sunday, April 6, 7:30 PM - Stetson Brass Ensembles Concert, Lee Chapel - Elizabeth Hall, Stetson University, DeLand, FL. FREE!!!


Thursday, April 17, 7 PM - Swing into Spring: A Jazz Collection, Daytona State News Journal Center, Daytona Beach, FL. $10 for Adults, $5 for child under 11 (bring your student ID just in case)

I am performing with the Daytona State Jazz Band in this concert! I will be playing tenor saxophone and flute!


Friday & Saturday, April 25-26, All Day - Lakeside Jazz Festival, Kenneth Parker Amphitheatre in Port Orange, FL. FREE!!! 

Not only will our jazz band be performing on Friday, but there are also other middle schools, high schools, colleges, and professional groups performing both days!
