"Music Notes" Update!

Hello students and parents of the Umatilla Middle School Tiger Band!

Each week during the school year, I will be sending out a Weekly “Music Notes” through our website to make sure you are up to date on what is happening with all things band. So make sure you subscribe to get updates! You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

We are approaching the first week of school! There are some things that will be happening that you should know about.

July 31: Tiger Pride Camp 9-12 PM

August 7: Meet the Teacher, 1-3 PM

August 12: First Day of School

August 15: Band Parent Meeting, 6 PM in the UMS Cafeteria

August 17: Instrument Fitting Day, 1-3 PM in the UMS Gym (Beginning Band Students Only)

Tiger Pride Camp

This is an opportunity for all our incoming sixth graders to see the campus and what Umatilla Middle School has to offer to them. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend Tiger Pride Camp as I will be in my New Teacher Orientation during it. Please still sign up for the camp and explore the campus! Meet the Teacher

Meet the Teacher at Umatilla Middle School is happening on August 7 from 1-3 PM. I will be in the band room ready to meet you all! So feel free to swing by and say hello. :)

Band Parent Meeting

This is open to all band parents and will take place in the UMS Cafeteria starting at 6 PM. This is where you can meet me, the new band director. I will talk to you about my goals for the year and how parents can help throughout the school year.

Instrument Fitting Day

Hey beginning band students and families! Ready to learn an instrument? Come to our instrument fitting day to test out instruments to see where you fit best! This will take place from 1-3 PM in the UMS gym where you will get tested on each instrument by a music professional. Each family will then have a small one-on-one meeting with me as we review what you scored. Based on scores and personal preference, we will assign you your instrument!
