Frequently Asked Questions
1. What should we wear?
All students will receive a Middle School Night Shirt when they check into the event. I will keep everyone posted on the Band App as I gain more information. I would like ALL Umatilla MS students to wear a UMS Band Shirt and Jeans or NAVY BLUE pants. ALL STUDENTS must wear SNEAKERS. If a student does not have the correct shoes, they will be asked to either get the right footwear from a parent/guardian, or they will not be allowed to be on the field with the high school band. This is for the safety of your student.
2. Where do I drop my students off/pick them up?
Students will be dropped off and picked up from Building 4, which contains the band room and auditorium. PLEASE PICK YOUR STUDENT UP ON TIME!!!!! Mr. Innis and I are not babysitters, and we have to get home to our families as well.
3. Can I chaperone?
Absolutely! Parents that are interested in chaperoning should contact me directly by Wednesday, October 16. I am currently working with front office staff on the procedures for this. You must already have an approved background check with Lake County Schools.
4. What do I need for the night?
Please have the following!
Arrive in UMS Band Shirt & Jeans/Navy Blue Pants
Sneakers
INSTRUMENT
Instrument Supplies (multiple reeds, valve oil, cork grease, slide oil, etc)
Music
Water Jug (NOT A PLASTIC BOTTLE, something like your Stanley...iykyk)
Bug Spray (encouraged)
Money (encouraged if you are wanting concessions during break)
5. Will my student eat?
YES! The high school band is getting cheese and pepperoni pizzas for all of our students to have during the break of the game. They will also get a snack before we march out to the field.
Due to the recent hurricane, things have been a little disorganized with scheduling. This week's football game is Middle School Night, Senior Night, AND Homecoming. Mr. Innis and I are working diligently to make sure that you all have the correct and most up to date information. I will continue to update as we know more.
Speaking of Scheduling...
Tiger Pride Night got moved to next week on Thursday, October 24 starting at 5:30pm. This is Umatilla Middle's open house with trivia, food, and open classrooms. Make sure to be on the lookout for RSVP and other information.
Please make sure you are staying up to date with our calendar, Band App and blog! Let's make it a great week!
