Monday, October 13: Teacher Work Day (NO SCHOOL)

Friday, October 17: Stetson Field Trip! (Pyburn Out for 2nd half of day!)

Friday, October 17: Ren Faire Field Trip Paperwork and money DUE!

END OF QUARTER ONE!

The quarter ended FRIDAY! Please check on your student’s grades! Some students are failing band just because they missing pass-offs or the BAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT FORM!

I have all grades up to date. Students can still submit things like pass-offs to Google Classroom and I can place it in as long as it is before Monday at 4:15pm!

YMCA

Parents, I know a lot of you are aware and concerned about the YMCA now charging for after school. I am working on finding all the answers to on how to proceed when we start to have our required after school rehearsals. I appreciate your patience and hope I can come to some answers soon.

Festival of American Anniversaries Band Field Trip

On Friday, October 17, I am hosting a band field trip to Stetson University! Stetson is hosting a chamber music concert at 3PM for the Festival of American Anniversaries: Celebrating Barber and Copland! EMAIL TO BE SENT TOMORROW TO SPECIFIC PARENTS!

Here is what you need to know:

- Spots are limited and will be given on a first come, first serve basis (about 40 students)

- ‎Costs (DUE OCTOBER 3) GET YOUR MONEY IN!!!!!

    Students: $20 (Transportation & Meal)

    Chaperones: $12 (Meal)

- Goal is to have 1 chaperone per 10 kids

- Students must be passing ALL classes. I AM USING QUARTER ONE GRADES!

- Students must have less than 2 referrals, less than 1 in school suspensions, zero out of school suspensions

- Students must have less than 10 unexcused absences.

- If students do not meet the requirements of the trip, their spot will be given to a student on the waitlist.

Estimated Schedule (Depending on Bus Route Times, May Change)

- ‎12PM: Estimated Lunch Time

- ‎1PM: Estimated Leave Time

- ‎2PM: Arrive at Stetson, explore campus together and check out the Stetson Bookstore (BRING MONEY FOR MERCH!!!)

- ‎2:45PM: Seated in Lee Chapel, Elizabeth Hall

- ‎3PM: Concert Begins

- ‎4:30PM: Meal in the Carlton Union Building (CUB)

- 6PM: Estimated depart from Stetson University

- ‎7PM: Estimated arrival at Umatilla Middle School

Renaissance Faire Field Trip!

Ms. Tice, UMS’s Art and Theatre teacher, invited the band to join her students on a field trip to Tavares to go to the annual Renaissance Faire on Friday, November 7th! If students are interested in going, they must turn in a field trip form and $5 by THIS FRIDAY! They can turn into me or Ms. Tice!

Students must have passing grades (C or better), no unexcused absences, no referrals, and no suspensions.

Middle School Night (Returning Students)

On Friday, October 24, Umatilla High School will be hosting their Middle School Night! Middle School Night is an opportunity for 7th and 8th grade students to play with the high school band! They get to jam out in the stands and run out on the field to play a tune with the marching band during their halftime performance!
