Here’s what you need to know for the week!

January 13-17, 2025

January 13: Jazz MPA Rehearsal, 4:15-5:30 PM

January 15: Concert MPA Rehearsal, 3:15-4:30 PM

After School Rehearsals

ATTENTION SYMPHONIC AND JAZZ BAND STUDENTS!!!!! You have required after school rehearsals starting on TOMORROW, JANUARY 13. Yes, they are a grade. We have MPAs next month which means that we must do preparation outside of school as well to give our best performance. If there are scheduling issues, you must talk to me, and I must receive parent communication. Please see our calendar online and in the band handbook.

Emails

Thank you for your patience with emails as I have been out of town at a professional development conference. I will be starting to catch up on emails starting Monday.

BIG UPCOMING EVENTS

There are a lot of big events happening in the next couple months, and parents, I need your help!

I will be sending some mass emails out hopefully tomorrow about these events as well. Some information is still tentative, so thank you for your understanding.

I need chaperones for the following events:

February 13, 2025: Jazz Band Music Performance Assessment, Mount Dora HS

February 27, 2025: Concert Band Music Performance Assessment, Lake Minneola HS

April 25, 2025: Lakeside Jazz Festival, Kenneth Parker Amphitheatre

Other events happening:

February 7-8, 2025: Solo and Ensemble # 1, Tavares HS

April 12, 2025: Solo and Ensemble # 2, The Villages Charter MS

I will put all the information about these events in separate emails, and there will be more in the blogs as the events get closer.

Grading for Quarter 3

I work to put grades in as often as possible. Please keep an eye on gradebook and make sure you are not missing things in band. Students are required to play, have music, and have their instrument each day in order to earn full points for the week. We also have pass-offs each quarter and all performances and rehearsals are a grade.

Again, please be keeping up to date with the blog, Band App, online calendar, and website. Be on the lookout for email from me a lot more this semester! If you are not receiving emails, email me and I will add you to the list!!
